IBM’s alphaWorks Showcases New Technologies

I probably should have given some column space to this sooner, but if you’ve never poked around IBM’s alphaWorks site, it’s worth a look. Plenty of interesting ideas and cool technologies get their first peak of the light of day there. Here are some that caught my attention…

  • SHARK, the Shorthand-Aided Rapid Keyboarding Project, used for pen-based input (sort of like Graffiti)
  • AUIML – Abstract User Interface Markup Language, which builds UIs that work in both Java Swing and HTML environments.
  • Web Services Toolkit for Mobile Devices
  • Framework for Application Data and Sources – a framework for reading and writing data in multiple formats to multiple destinations.
